I like to write science fiction / speculative fiction in my spare time, and I’m always looking for inspiration. What’s the coolest thing you’ve seen in the world of science lately?

I’m fascinated about teams that building a robots/3dprinters that will build structures in space. nothing fresh for book maybe, but it’s in-process work right now.

Awaiting the launch of the James Webb Telescope.

“One of its major goals is observing some of the most distant events and objects in the universe, such as the formation of the first galaxies. These types of targets are beyond the reach of current ground- and space-based instruments. Other goals include understanding the formation of stars and planets, and direct imaging of exoplanets and novas.”

It’s a major part here

Btw, Webb is not only the one that will change work of astronomers after 2020.

And! guys, that preparing a space-robots - wants to help to build a huge mirror as well. and with just raw materials and without any foldable parts, without stress at launching in space, etc…

  1. it’s a future of space engines
  2. my friend have a PhD in ion drives. works 7 years on small university salary. and cannot handle it and give up…
