Open Source is Broken

The Open Source movement, as championed by the OSI, prizes absolute openness above all other concerns. Openness, they claim, is an absolute good, from which all other virtues flow, not to be questioned or criticized. It doesn’t matter if that openness enables evil in the world, without openness we cannot have truly collaborative software development communities. So the claim goes.

I agree with some points in the article and disagree with others.
Nobody forces the maintainers to be in this position - it is voluntary…
Ironically, to prevent exploiting the free labor of open source developers by corporations the solution is to make key pieces close sourced, binary only…
Most users of binaries based on open sourced software do not care about the availability of the source code…
