It’s entirely possible that we’re living in a simulation run by some advanced civilization. The question is: are they doing it for amusement? Research? Or something else?

To be honest Austin, I think we do live in a simulation. Think about it. How many things have you dreamed to only to wake up and thinking that it was real? Nothing at this point would surprise me.

Right. This goes all the way back to Descartes: the only thing we can know for sure is that we’re self-aware (“I think therefore I am”).
Or, as Frank Reynolds put it, “we could be in a turtle’s dream in outer space”.
