Just like video game publishers, consumer software companies have understood that the commercial interest is no longer necessarily the number of users in absolute terms, but the amount of time users spend to use their products. Sucking up time spent by a user has become a determining factor, at a time when mobile games were already holding players’ attention with the most advanced captivation ‘triggers’, sometimes driving them crazy.
I doubt anyone can resist slack after they’ve witnessed in all its glory.
I love that Slack started as an internal tool for a gaming company. One of my favorite podcast episodes.
Ok so that is more of an ad for Apoapse Pro than anti slack.
I would like to point out other alternatives like discord, mattermost, rocketchat.
But of course all the crypto-kiddies know all about discord, slack was left long ago…
