Aleph.im: Decentralized Cloud for DeFi, Web3 and the rest of the Web

Hi Hacker Noon

Iā€™m Adrien, in charge of Comms and Jack-Of-All-Trades at aleph.im. Our open-source project providing decentralized databases (including file storage), computation and a decentralized identification (DID) framework.

Our core mission is to help decentralized apps and protocols strip off the centralized parts of their stack, achieving a fully decentralized architecture. You can think of aleph.im as a decentralized AWS or Firebase. Much like Bitcoin, our aim is create a Cloud Service that is decentralized: unstoppable, censorship-resistant and always available.

Our founder Moshe Malawach (aka Jonathan Schemoul) started this project alone in 2019, then got the chance to go full time as the project was getting more traction and he was getting help from other people passionate about blockchain and believing in him.

Fast forward to January 2021, the aleph.im network is now live and supports many blockchains including Ethereum, Polkadot, Cosmos and BinanceChain. Our list of partners and integrators is growing, getting real usage is high on our priority list, there are many possible use-cases (including fully decentralized NFTs) so we are super excited to see whats going to be the ground breaking one. All of you prob know the chainlink story: so many use cases but the one that made the huge difference was price feeds for DeFi.

We already do have a strong strategy for the future and we would love to have additional feedback from developers. You can start playing around right now using our javascript and python libraries mentioned in our Website Dev Doc.

But by all means, we are always open to feedback on other parts of the project.

Thanks for reading this far =)
Adrien
