This is great! Is there a way to solely have the rails template file define all the configuration that’s contained in the railsrc file? That would be nice :slight_smile:

Hi, thanks for kind words. I don’t believe there is, but what one can do is telling rails specifically to ignore the .railsrc file by using the --no-rc flag with rails new.

With Hix on Rails, however, we somehow do it for the --database option: if you don’t provide it, or provide sqlite3, you can still override it via the installation wizard.

So theoretically, you can do that by editing configuration files accordingly: in this case config/database.yml and Gemfile.
